Shrinky Dinks TIPS FOR Cutting and Coloring
-Color on frosted side.
-Draw design as close to edge as possible.
-Punch any holes (for keychains or necklace loops) before you bake them
and remember that holes shrink too.
-Color with
sharpie type permanent markers
and/or colored pencil.
-Keep in mind that colors darken as the plastic shrinks.
- Initial shape may warp with the heat.
My sheets were 6 by 8 inches. I fit 3 designs on it.
Design 1, Weird Girl Club
Design 2, Moth
Design 3, Art Cheetah
I heated them for 2-3 minutes (longer on bigger ones) at 250.
Make sure glossy/non colored side is down.
Watch them close. They will curl up then flatten out. When they get flat, take them out.
After removal, I laid a book on top for about 30 seconds to assure flatten out.
Before and After
Size Reference
It shrinks about 60%
You can see the difference in size before and after the heat.
It shrunk over half size.
The round and symmetrical ones warped.
I recommend doing a design that is okay if it warps a little.
If you want assurance that the color will not come off, spray with an acrylic sealant
AFTER the oven heat.
❌ Ilearned you cannot use this on alcohol markers or it bleeds out.
