Begin drawing...
I used a step by step reference from
https://youngartlove.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/peacock-copy.jpg.
I later filled in blank areas in between with more feather "eyes". I made some cut off of the page to give the illusion that the plume keeps going out of paper space.
---------
Crayons...
The wax of the crayons will later resist the paint we put on top. These details will be protected from paint.
----------
Painting...
Close up to see how the sea foam green crayon resists the blue water paint.
Body, eyes of feathers and head feathers are all blue.
Feathers are green.
I came back at end when it was dry with dark green, yellow and blue crayons and added a crisper line to some parts.
Video for facts about peacocks. I would recommend it for 4th grade or older.
