MOrgan Davidson
American, Morgan Davidson is a very accomplished realistic artist; she injects so much color and light in her drawings, that it wouldn't surprise me if they were enough to illuminate a darkened room.

1. FIND A BEETLE PHOTO
It must be symmetrical, colorful, and shiny/iridescent.
HINT: Once you pick your beetle, you can identify it by name and search for a line drawing of it.
This may help with the initial outline.

Begin..
I chose this one...
2. Fold your paper to find the line of symmetry.
With a pencil, Draw your beetle on the paper as symmetrical as possible.
*HINT- if you choose white paper, you can draw half, fold, and trace to other side.
4. Map out the shapes of your colors on your beetle with a pencil
I labeled mine to help me later.
5. Color in your beetle with markers.
Alcohol markers work best to make smooth.
6. Go over your areas that need more saturation, intensity and brightness with Prisma Color pencils.
You may need to LAYER them and use WHITE mixed in to make them appear "lit up".
Work until it is as close to the original photo as possible.
Examples below from Mrs. Morgan, the Lost Sock Art Teacher
My art next to original photo.
Notice the colors in the photo were not exactly symmetrical.
I did change some to make it more the same on both sides.
Here is a video to help you with the technique.
