What is a doodle?
Doodle is subconscious drawing. It is like daydreaming with your pencil. You do not have a plan, it just flows out. Most of the time a doodle is formed of lines, shapes and patterns instead of objects. Since drawing an object requires conscious thought and can be "messed up". Focus on letting your ideas happen in the moment of your doodle.
A form of popular doodling is called "Zentagle". It is a practice of meditation and doodling. There are
many popular patterns created to help you get inspired. Click below to see some...
ZENTANGLE
Zentangle starts with a shape, usually a box, and you start doodling inside.

You will need to FILL UP THE SPACE in order to get more doodle inside.
Begin by folding your paper in half. If you bug is WIDE, fold you paper "hamburger".
If your bug is LONG, fold your paper "hotdog",
Draw half of your bug with a pencil. If it looks good, trace with black marker,
Fold and trace to other half with a pencil. If it looks good, outline with black marker.
Begin filling your bug up with zentangles/doodles.
Focus on lines, shapes, and patterns. 40 points
I started with one half, then traced it to the other side.
If you are comfortable with it, you can free hand on both sides,
being extra careful to stay SYMMETRICAL.
Use pencil and blendy stump to shade around the bug.
This will make it seem like it is sitting on the paper. 20 points

Did you FILL UP THE SPACE?
If you have a lot of space left, create symmetrical designs oustside the insect area.
