I was so excited about taking this trip!
We have been working so hard on projects for other people that it was time to just take some time out for ourselves and make family memories...
What better place is the Texas Hill Country?
I spent so many summers there with my family as a little girl that I wanted to feel like a kid again.
We spent lots of time growing up staying in Wimberley, Texas.
Growing up I wanted to live there when I got to be old in some stone home along the river...
maybe one day.
Wimberley, Texas truly is Heavenly in my mind.

Me and My littlest, Madelynn |
We stayed out first two nights at the Cypress Creek Cottages...
They were wonderful! Truly felt at home...
|
My oldest daughter, Maisy |
Down the road from our cottage was a creek.
We went wading in it some...
|
Maisy, Shannon, and Madelynn |
After wading and walking in the creek, we went to 7-A Ranch Resort to just hang out and take some photos. This is where we always stayed when I was a little girl. It is a really neat place that is set up like an old West town. It also has an arcade and ice cream parlor. But my favorite part is the Blanco River right across the street! I spent plenty of time in that water and was ready to head down to it...

But first, some fashionista photos!...

My girls in front of the Chapel...
I always dreamed of getting married in this place. |

Silver Spoon of 7-A. |
All righty! Kick of your shoes... it is time to go in the Blanco! Let your feet soak or even your booty!
We were not exactly dressed to soak... but ended up getting pretty wet. Forget swim suits...
|
Maddy found a rock and would not let go... |
|
Heart shaped distress in river rock... |
We left... spend some time downtown WImberley along the river venturing around
after a day of antiquing.
|
Crazy goose scared us a little... |
|
Paper Bear store in San Marcos |
We visited one of my favorite stores called Paper Bear Heartworks downtown SanMarcos. They have great jewelry, unique gifts, and multi-cultural finds. We stocked up on some small toys for the girls and some jewelry for me and Maisy.
|
I absolutely love my Amber ring from PaperBear!

Fredricksburg, Texas.
We stayed in the Lovely Little Acorn Guest House.

|
spend evenings lounging in the Living room... |
|
We had to eat at the Auslander.
My grandmother once owned and ran this restaurant in the old days.
It has changed a lot since then, but it was nice to just go for kicks and have her in my heart.
Great Food! |
|
We spend a lot of time downtown antiquing and window shopping. |
|
We were in and out of the Little Acorn trying to get the little ones to nap...
this was mostly unsuccessful.
Leaving again. |
|
"CoverBurger" at Alamo Spring |
Shannon is an avid Texas Monthly reader. The Alamo Spring was in the best burger issue as being the third best burger in the state! He was so excited to get his mouth on this thing... he was a little disappointed.
East Texas Burger Company of Mineola was better...
On the way home from the Alamo Springs, we saw this pretty thing. Got a great photo of this old stone building...Nice!
|
Some of my favorite times in Fredricksburg were just sitting around with the family being lazy.
Me and Madelynn played on the porch and in the grass. She was just being so fun and beautiful... |
One of the coolest things in the Little Acorn was the clawfoot tub.
The girls had a lot of fun playing in it...
|
Signing of the Little Acorn Guest book |
I had a little too much fun signing and drawing in the guestbook for little acorn home... oh well.
Well, we had to say goodbye to the hills
and head home to the piney woods of East Texas.
We had so much fun!
You should go and have fun too!
Places you need to go...

|
We had seen Carlos Moseley's art on Texas Country Reporter.
It was amazing! He takes big rocks, little pebbles, or whatever and makes these amazing rock pieces from them.
